About Me

I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where I also attended college and met the love of my life. I lived in NYC for five years with my husband and Westie, Mack Brown before recently moving all the way across the country to Los Angeles. I'm an amateur chef, total foodie, lover of Westies, sports fanatic and self-proclaimed book worm. You'll find a little bit of all these things I love on this blog. And...most importantly, I'm a new mom to the most precious baby boy, Austn Robert, born this past October.

Road Trip: Day Three & Four

After leaving Davidson Thursday morning, we headed south to Atlanta to visit our good friends Brooks and Jane.  Brooks recently purchased his first home in the Virginia Highlands section of Atlanta, so we were not only excited to see Brooks and Jane, but also excited to see Brooks' new "batchellor" pad.  What a great place, Brooks!

Brooks works at The Westminster School as a high school history teacher and Westminster's high school football team was playing in Brooks' neighborhood Friday night, so we went to watch some of the game with Brooks.  I love watching high school football, but the true star of the night was the opposing team's band.  They stole the show.  Not joking, they played LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem.  Awesome.

Saturday we grilled up some hamburgers and ribs on Brook's new grill and watched Texas get crushed by the Sooners.  The ribs were definitely the highlight of that adventure.

After the game, we met up with another friend from college, Kate Mabry (Leggett) at a local bar and spent the rest of the afternoon/ evening catching up and watching more football.  Luckily both Brooks' and Jane's teams won (Michigan and Georgia respectively), so at least some people got to watch a good football game on Saturday!

This is how Mack watches football games.

Overall, it was a great visit to Atlanta.  Thanks again Brooks and Jane!
